Are you ready for Google’s mobile update…?

At the moment an ever increasing amount of web browsing takes place on mobile devices.  Almost everywhere you go people seem pinned to their small screens.  This is a far cry from the browser based Internet use that was standard only a few years ago.  This increase in users browsing The Web on mobile devices still has a long way to go yet.  To emphasise the significance of this change in our browsing habits Google is now making changes to its algorithm.

From April 21st 2015 the Google algorithm will be using mobile friendly factors in its mobile search results.  There is already a ‘Mobile Friendly’ tag in search results when you search on mobile but Google is now going further and actually marking down sites that are not mobile friendly.  Your site will therefore drop down the search results if it is not mobile friendly come April 21st 2015.  This is SEO for mobile, plain and simple.  If you want to stay where you are or move up as others move down you need a mobile friendly site.
